We minimize data collection while keeping the Service safe and reliable. This Privacy Policy describes what data we process when you use the Social Media Downloader website and services (“Service”).

Data We Process

  • Submitted URL: The video or post URL you paste is used only to resolve and provide downloadable media links. It is not used for advertising or profiling.
  • IP address: Used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We may retain IP-related data in logs for a limited period (e.g. 30 days) for security and debugging.
  • Operational logs: Limited server logs (e.g. request paths, errors) to debug failures and keep the Service stable. These are retained only as long as necessary for operations and security.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not ask for or store your social media platform credentials (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook).
  • We do not intentionally store downloaded media permanently on our servers after delivery.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or local storage only where necessary for the Service to function (e.g. security and bot protection). Our third-party security provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set cookies when bot protection is enabled; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details. We also use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising, as described in the Advertising section below.

Advertising

We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google, to show ads on our site. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver relevant ads, measure ad performance, and understand how visitors use our Service. Social Media Downloader does not sell your personal data. We use advertising to keep the service free. You can control ad personalisation and cookie settings via your browser or through your Google account settings.

Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare Turnstile: Bot protection. When enabled, Cloudflare may process requests and use cookies/local storage as described in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed to operate the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Logs and temporary processing data are deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
